This is one of those "man, why didn't I think of that" moments.  I mean, it's just so simple and elegant: chain & weld your remote to a 1.5 foot long piece of crane rail (with an easy to carry handle on top!), and you won't lose it.  Truly genius.  The only thing that could make this better would be if it were a Logitech Harmony 1100 on the end of the chain.
